Pride has partnered with America's Finest Softball League to present the annual Out at the Park event at PETCO Park. The event gives recognition to the LGBT community as well as a combined group of choruses scheduled to sing the national anthem at the summer game.

Wine Steals Grotto
Pride has teamed with Wine Steals to present a wine only area called the Wine Steals Grotto. 50 wineries from the West Coast, France and Italy will pour during the two-day festival, scheduled for July 19 and 20.

GLAAD Pulls Out of "Pride Rocks" Event at Manchester Hyatt
San Diego Pride today issued a firm statement disassociating itself from a weekend hotel package that included GLAAD membership and an invitation to a "pride party" planned July 18, at the Manchester Hyatt in downtown San Diego. The announcement immediately followed a statement by GLAAD that it would not support the event as previously intended, after learning that the hotel's owner, Doug Manchester, has contributed $125,000 to a California anti-gay marriage initiative.

33rd Annual Pride Parade and Festival Scheduled for July 21-22
San Diego LGBT Pride will hold its 33rd annual parade and festival on July 21-22. This year's theme is "United for Equality. The weekend festivities will kick off with a Spirit of Stonewall Community Celebration a week earlier, at 3:30 p.m., July 15, at the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park, to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York's Greenwich Village, which is considered to be the commencement of the contemporary Lesbian and Gay liberation movement. Community members will also be publicly recognized for their contributions to the community.

Sempra Energy becomes fifth Fortune 500 company to sponsor this year's San Diego LGBT Pride celebration, scheduled for July 21-22. The San Diego-based company is a Fortune 500 energy services holding company with 2006 revenues of nearly $12 billion. The Sempra Energy companies' 14,000 employees serve more than 29 million consumers worldwide. It joins four other Fortune 500 companies as top sponsors of Pride's 2007 celebration: AT&T, Cox Communications, Wells Fargo and Hewlett Packard, all of which offer diversity programs and domestic partnership benefits that extend into the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Ron deHarte Elected Regional Director of InterPride
San Diego Pride Executive Director Ron deHarte was elected to the InterPride board of directors as a regional director to represent a number of Pride organizations that include those in Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Utah, Mexico and the Baja Peninsula. InterPride elects two representatives from each of 20 geographical regions that are spread throughout the world in an effort to increase networking and camaraderie among the various organizations.

Mike Karim, a board member and longtime volunteer for San Diego Pride, was voted "Person of the Year" by the Consolidated Association of Pride, Inc. Pride has established a first-ever, paid internship position for a high school senior as part of its resolution to further involve LGBT youth into the long-term planning of Pride's annual celebrations.
