New Production Assistant Joins San Diego Pride Staff

Events specialist Jeff Redondo of North Park has been hired as production assistant for San Diego LGBT Pride, a position that will involve daily administration and the ongoing development of  relationships with San Diego's diverse LGBT communities.

Redondo is a graduate of San Diego State University and a student at the University of California at San Diego's Extended Studies program. He worked as a supervisor at College Loan Corporation, a lead teller for Wells Fargo and maintained various positions for San Diego Pride over the last 10 years, including event manager. In that capacity, he became involved with soliciting high-profile sponsorships, recruited government officials and judges to the annual parade, and coordinated with City of San Diego police, fire, and special events departments to confirm logistical issues. He is also a member of the Gay Men's Chorus of San Diego, and in 2006, was named volunteer of the year by Pride.

As production assistant of Pride, he will support the organization's executive director in planning and enhancing teamwork among production staff and volunteers.

"Jeff has contributed greatly to San Diego Pride in various roles. His appointment as a full-time staffer will further embed Pride's grassroots orientation with the Pride Committee. His institutional knowledge of the organization coupled with his project and event management skills will allow him to hit the ground running," says Pride Executive Director Ron deHarte.

San Diego LGBT Pride weekend is scheduled for July 18-20. This year's theme is "Live, Love, Be." To sign up for Pride's e-newsletter or inquire about volunteer opportunities, call 619-297-7683, or visit www.SanDiegoPride.org.
