Viejas To Support San Diego Pride From

Margaret Cho Concerts in May

Viejas Entertainment & Production will support San Diego LGBT Pride as a non-profit beneficiary through two evening appearances by comedienne Margaret Cho, scheduled for May 16 and 17 at Viejas' Concerts in the Park series. The production company is owned and operated by the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians.

Cho, a stand-up favorite among LGBT audiences, served as San Diego Pride's grand marshal in 2000. The show, titled "Beautiful," is her first concert tour in three years.

"The Viejas Tribe is proud to be a supporter of Pride," said Viejas Tribal Chairman Bobby Barrett. "We believe that partnering with organizations reflecting the diversity of our community strengthens the community as a whole. Pride has positively impacted the San Diego community and we are pleased to stand alongside them."

"Partnering with Pride for this show was an easy decision," added Viejas Entertainment & Production President Tony San Pietro. "Not only do they have a tremendous community outreach, but they've been a pleasure to work with as well. As we begin to broaden our concert demographic we look forward to partnering with Pride and other community organizations in the future."

Adds Ron deHarte, executive director of Pride: "We are very excited to have been selected by Viejas Entertainment and we are pleased to welcome Margaret Cho back to San Diego."

The May shows begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 for reserved seats and $30 for general admission. Purchases can be made by calling or visiting any Ticketmaster outlet or visiting: www.viejasentertainment.com.
